A burning car on Interstate 580 in Castro Valley sparked a vegetation fire on Sunday evening, officials said. The far right two lanes heading westbound near Eden Canyon Road were temporarily blocked off as a result of the fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. One individual was in the vehicle when it caught fire, but was uninjured.

Firefighters are working on a vegetation fire that started from a car fire in Castro Valley Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Crews are currently battling a brush fire that broke out in Castro Valley Sunday evening after an SUV fire spread to the nearby hillside.

The Ranch at Coulter Creek fire sparked near a Carbondale subdivision Sunday morning, north of Panorama Drive, and prompted mandatory evacuations, fire officials said.

The Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District called for an evacuation of the Panorama subdivision and areas east of County Road 100 to Upper Cattle Creek Road.

The Rio Blanco County Sheriff's Office said homes along County Road 8 between mile marker 11 and mile marker 16 are being evacuated.
