Hurricane Kiko steadily weakened as expected and downgraded to tropical storm status, according to forecasters who predict it will pass north of the Hawaiian Islands.

Kiko continues on a path to pass through the north side of the Hawaiian Islands, bringing the potential of life-threatening rip current conditions.
