10组花坛以“铭记历史、缅怀先烈、珍爱和平、开创未来”为主题，在北京长安街建国门至复兴门之间布置。东侧5组花坛展现中华民族英勇无畏、可歌可泣的伟大胜利，西侧5组花坛展现了新时代伟大成就，共同营造出庄重热烈的活动氛围。此外，各式景观也亮相北京街头，前门大街设置的主题景观雕塑“万众一心”等都吸引了众多市民游客拍照留念。

近日，新华社记者走进阅兵集训点，采访参加纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年阅兵活动的8位战旗方队擎旗手，听他们讲述战旗背后的故事。 1941年秋，晋察冀军区一分区一团七连六班班长马宝玉带领胡福才、胡德林、葛振林、宋学义4名战士，在弹药用尽的情况下，宁死不屈，英勇跳崖。从此，连队被称为“狼牙山五壮士连”，六班被称为“狼牙山五壮士班”。

党的十八大以来，习近平总书记以深邃洞见将伟大抗战精神高度概括为“天下兴亡、匹夫有责的爱国情怀，视死如归、宁死不屈的民族气节，不畏强暴、血战到底的英雄气概，百折不挠、坚忍不拔的必胜信念”。
