The Aurora Civic Center Authority, which owns and operates the Paramount Theatre, sent a letter to subscribers on Monday announcing that the hiatus of the Bold Series would begin after the final

The previously allocated municipal support for Paramount Theatre could be reduced by up to 65 percent, the Board of Directors said.

Aurora’s Paramount Theatre is scaling back theatrical productions in the wake of projected cuts in city financial support.  Exactly how much is uncertain as Paramount’s governing body and the city of Aurora have offered competing assessments.

The cancellation means that the previously announced Chicago-area premiere of “Covenant” by York Walker and a new staging of the cult musical “Ride the Cyclone” are now off.
