A New York man who was fatally shot in Puerto Rico's La Perla neighborhood in San Juan on Sunday is being remembered by his loved ones as a beloved son, friend and inspiration to all who knew him

The shooting happened in the predawn hours on Sunday in the popular seaside shantytown of La Perla near Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A New York City family is mourning the sudden death of 25-year-old Kevin Mares, who was killed while on vacation in Puerto Rico for a Bad Bunny concert. Mares, described by his father Hector Mares as a “deeply loved son” and “pillar of strength” by his family,
