Hurricane Kiko regained intensity to a Category 4 system on a path toward Hawaii over the next several days as post-tropical cyclone Lorena soaked Mexico's Baja California peninsula with heavy rain, forecasters said Friday.

Forecasters say Hurricane Kiko is weakening as it continues on a track forecast to take the storm north of the Hawaiian islands in coming days.

Broadly hostile conditions continue to dominate the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf. There are no signs of any tropical development this week, and development next week looks limited.
