Democratic state legislative candidate Stefano Famiglietti outperformed former Vice President Kamala Harris by 55 points in a Rhode Island special election on Tuesday. Famiglietti ran to replace longtime state Senate President Dominick Ruggerio, who died in April.

There’s a swath of the party that would be glad if Harris doesn’t run in 2028 — or campaign actively in the midterms.
