Federal prosecutors say a member of the Chicago-based Latin Kings gang offered $10,000 to kill border patrol agent Gregory Bovino who has risen to prominence.

Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker called the move unnecessary and “a manufactured performance — not a serious effort to protect public safety.”
