Xiaomi Corp. on Monday released an open-source voice model to complement its automotive and home appliance technologies, further heating up the race to build AI tools for more than just text.

Xiaomi has launched a 7-billion-parameter version of its open-source voice model, MiDashengLM, which incorporates Alibaba's open-source Qwen 2.5 series. This model focuses on in-car systems and smart home devices,

B, is integrated with Alibaba Group’s open-source Qwen2.5-Omni-7B model. Besides speech inputs, it also understands ambient sounds, background music, and environmental noise.
