The wildfire areas of Manitoba and Saskatchewan are projected to receive 50 millimeters to 100 millimeters of rain this weekend into early next week. That amount of rain converts to two inches to four inches of rain. Two to four inches of rain will do a lot to extinguish a wildfire.

The smoke drifting across the border contains fine particulates, pollution so small that it’s basically invisible to the naked eye.

Wildfire smoke from over 700 active wildfires in Canada has blown thousands of miles down to Hampton Roads and Coastal North Carolina, affecting air quality and graying out the skies. The good news is that we're currently experiencing what is likely to be the worst of the smoke.
