Tropical Storm Fernand continues to weaken as it moves east away from the U.S. coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Fernand is forecast to weaken as it churns over the open Atlantic Ocean, and odds have plummeted for a system to develop near the eastern Caribbean.

Little change in strength is expected from Tropical Storm Fernand over the next 12 hours, and forecasters with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) say the storm will become post-tropical by Wednesday night.
