Jerry Adler, an actor known for his role as Hesh Rabkin on "The Sopranos," has died at 96. The star became an actor in his 60s after directing theater.

After years on Broadway in behind-the-scenes jobs, he had transformed into an actor late in life, in films and on television shows including “The Good Wife” and “Rescue Me.”
