Steven Kwan delivered a tiebreaking single in the seventh inning Tuesday night for the visiting Cleveland Guardians, who remained red hot with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the slumping New York Mets.

A near-capacity crowd filed into Citi Field on Tuesday night, hoping to see Pete Alonso make home run history. But there wasn’t much offense of any kind to go around as the Mets fell, 3-2, to the Cleveland Guardians for their seventh loss in eight games.

For the first time since Citi Field opened in April of 2009, the Guardians won a game on the Mets’ home turf. It took extra innings, but the Guardians accomplished the feat by scoring twice in the 10th inning for a 7-6 win over the Mets on Monday night.
