Bailey might end up being the big winner as he has stepped up with Singleton sidelined. And while Payton does not seem alarmed about the state of the LB room, the team did sign veteran Garret Wallow to shore up their depth. If all goes well -- knock on wood, as Payton said -- Greenlaw and Singleton will be ready for Week 1.

In his third year at the helm, Payton appears to have the Broncos trending in the right direction ahead of what should be a successful 2025 campaign.

The Denver Broncos drafted running back RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he's already impressing his head coach Sean Payton in Denver.

Singleton, a fellow veteran starter coming off a 2024 ACL tear, suffered a broken thumb on Monday that was expected to keep him sidelined for about a week. He underwent corrective surgery but, like Greenlaw, has since been seen at Broncos Park.

In an alarming sight for an already-banged-up inside linebacker room, Dre Greenlaw pulled up with a grimace after covering J.K. Dobbins in team drills.

Greenlaw will serve as one of the two starting inside linebackers in defensive coordinator Vance Joseph's scheme this fall. He will be joined by Alex Singleton (after Singleton returns from a broken thumb with a club) when the Broncos host the Tennessee Titans in their season opener on Sept. 7 ( view the full schedule ).
