Satellite images revealed the scope of destruction in the south of France where an area larger than the country's capital Paris has been turned into ashes by a massive wildfire.

Authorities say France’s biggest wildfire this summer is spreading quickly in a Mediterranean region near the Spanish border after leaving one person dead.

French officials have confirmed that one person is dead and 13 are injured in a wildfire in southern France, the largest France has dealt with in decades.
