Lando Norris held off his charging McLaren teammate and championship leader Oscar Piastri, to claim victory in a captivating Hungarian Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc had led from pole until the second round of pit stops, when Piastri found the performance required to get by the Ferrari.

Oscar Piastri said that Turn 1 and the pit lane were “probably it” when it comes to McLaren’s chance of overtaking Charles Leclerc in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Having been 1-2 in every practice session, McLaren’s best-laid plans were disrupted when Leclerc took pole, giving him the edge at the difficult-to-overtake Hungaroring.
