A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Friday afternoon in Bergen County, officials said. The person, identified only as an adult man, was hit just west of the New Bridge Landing Station in River Edge at 4:10 p.m. by a Pascack Valley Line train, an NJ Transit spokesperson told NJ Advance Media.

Authorities have identified the woman struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Hackensack last week as a 79-year-old city resident. Luz E. Lopez, of Hackensack, was hit by a Pascack Valley Line train near the Essex Street Station just before 10 a.m., NJ Transit said.
