A trial has begun under tight security for 19 defendants accused of involvement in last year’s shooting rampage in a Moscow concert hall that killed 149 people and wounded over 600 in one of the deadliest attacks in the capital in years.

Four gunmen burst into the Crocus City Hall last March and shot dead 149 people who were waiting to hear a rock band before setting the building on fire.

Three of four Tajik nationals accused of carrying out the March 2024 terror attack—in which more than 140 people died at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in outer Moscow—on August 4 pled guilty on the first day of their trial.
