Patrick Mahomes opened up for the first time about his father's 2024 arrest for driving while intoxicated right before the Super Bowl in the new Kansas City Chiefs docuseries.

Available through ESPN, ESPN+ and Disney+ starting on August 14, the six-episode docuseries goes deep into the Chiefs’ 2024 season while also tracing the franchise’s 65-year history. It features behind-the-scenes access, personal interviews and a deep dive into what it takes to chase a Super Bowl three-peat.

But openers don’t always go as planned. Last season, when the Chiefs played their preseason opener at Jacksonville, Patrick Mahomes played the first series, leading the Chiefs to a field goal. Backup Carson Wentz entered the game for the second series, in the first quarter. Before halftime, then-third team quarterback Chris Oladokun led a drive.
