In partnership with METRO, HISD is offering this alternative to traditional school buses, aiming to provide a more efficient way for students to get to school.

Some HISD high schoolers can use Metro to go to school under a partnership designed to help the district reduce costs and ride times.

Students not only report failing grades and can’t read or do math at their grade level but high school graduation rates are also low.

The Texas Education Agency has published delayed A-F ratings for the 2023-24 school year, along with ratings for 2024-25, at TXschools.gov. Houston ISD received a B grade of 82 for 2024-25, up from a 79 the year before.

In the 2024-25 school year, 14% of Texas school districts got an A, 71% got a B or a C, and 15% got a D or an F, new state data shows.
