Gabriel House owner Dennis Etzkorn released a statement on Wednesday, saying that “all records related to the building’s safety, including documentation of regular inspections of the sprinkler system," has been turned over to the proper authorities. Etzkorn says the most recent sprinkler inspection reported the system to be in working order.

Etzkorn has battled employees, contractors, neighbors, and government officials on issues ranging from small claims to multimillion-dollar Medicaid payments, to the operation of Gabriel House, a Globe review found.

The lawsuit alleges that the sprinkler system didn't work at the facility the night of the fire, among other safety concerns.

Three more residents are suing Gabriel House, the assisted living home in Fall River, Massachusetts where 10 people died in a fire last month.

Based on a March 2016 incident involving a certified nurse’s aid who was later fired, state regulators concluded that Gabriel House failed to treat residents with “consideration, respect, personal dignity and privacy.

The suit, filed Thursday in Bristol County Superior Court, accused Gabriel House of "negligence" for an extensive list of alleged problems. Safety system components such a fire panel, pump and sprinklers were not operational during the fire,

The exact cause of the fire at the Gabriel House assisted living facility in Fall River may never be known, but investigators have narrowed the cause down to two possibilities, officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

Fall River's building department released certificates of inspection for the assisted living facility where nine people died in a fire, Sunday night.
