The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Javion Lowery.

On May 16, Javion Lowery was shot while sitting in a vehicle parked in the area of Waverly Street and Dexter Avenue just before 1 a.m. Lowery, 29, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

DETROIT – Detroit Police and community leaders canvassed the Martin Luther King Apartments Sunday, urging tenants to call in tips on a shooting that has left a teen fighting for his life in the hospital for more than a month.

Police say a 7-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were injured in Thursday's shooting on the 7000 block of Arcola Avenue.

At around 6:20 a.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of Arcola Avenue, the passengers of two black pickup trucks exited and shot at the house near Van Dyke, police said. There were two individuals in each vehicle, but police said they are searching for two shooters who shot at the house.

A man is dead and another person is in temporary serious condition after a double shooting Saturday evening near Stoepel Park on Detroit’s west side, according to police.
