Officers responded to a report of a dead body near Sheridan Boulevard and West 82nd Avenue. Investigators believe the man was killed in a hit-and-run crash. Now a suspect is in custody after returning to the scene of the crash.

A man died after he was struck by a vehicle in Westminster early Saturday, with police saying the suspected driver of the vehicle initially fled before returning to the scene hours later — while police were still there.

Just after 6:30 a.m., Westminster Police officers responded to a death investigation near the 8200 block of Sheridan Boulevard and found a man dead near the road. Investigators believe the man was hit by a vehicle in what appeared to be a hit-and-run crash,
